APRIL BOOK/AUTHOR OF THE MONTH:
THE SELECTION BY KIERA CASSThis book of the month is The Selection, because on Friday, the sequel, The Elite is coming out, so I decided to honor this special book and the amazing author who wrote it.
The Selection by Kiera Cass
The Selection is a chance of a lifetime for most girls, a chance to get swept up in a world of glimmering jewels and the showering of riches and affection.
Not for America Singer, a commoner. She is a Five in love with a Six named Aspen. Even though girls are encouraged to marry a higher rank (a lower number, like a Four or a Three) America knows that her heart will always belong to Aspen and is too intoxicated by Aspen’s love that she does not seem to care.
And then the Selection comes along, a chance for 35 girls to compete for the gorgeous Prince Maxon’s affection. Prince Maxon is the future king of Ilea. America knows she could never love Maxon, so she does not even thing about entering. Until Aspen’s affection starts to waver and he encourages her to enter. America is shocked when she sends in the papers and is selected to go.
Who will America’s heart belong to? The man of her dreams, and the one she will always love, or the Prince, who can give her an unimaginable future?
This book was AMAZING! I would give it a ten out of ten rating. Read it if you liked Starters or Delirium.Coming Soon: The Elite
From Goodreads:Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.
America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.
Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

March 6th 2013 Daily Update
BIGGEST NEWS EVER!!!
Sometimes I have special bits of news other than book releases. Well, this is not a book release news. I have told you before that Divergent is being made into a movie and will be released in 2014. Well, Delirium fans, get a load of this, Delirium will NOT be made into a movie, instead it is turning into a TV series!!!
Fox bought the rights and has already casted the roles:
Gregg Sulkin cast as Jullian
Jeanine Mason as Hana
and finally, Lena. I think this actress is perfect for her. They are still trying to decide who should be cast as Alex. You probably know her from Nancy Drew and other famous roles, EMMA ROBERTS!!!!
To add to this news, I have decided in order to keep you updated on the Delirium TV show, I need a page for it. So, I have now published the in-progress Monthly Updates, Newz, Series, New Media, and other pages. Have fun!!!!

March Monthly Update
Can you believe it is time for another update? Wow. As always, we have an author and book of the month. And our author and book of the month honor has to go to the great Brandon Mull, in honor of the third book in the Beyonders series coming out this month.Book of the Month: Fablehaven
(information from our favorite website, www.goodreads.com )For centuries mystical creatures of all description were gathered into a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite.
Kendra and her brother, Seth, have no idea that their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven. Inside the gated woods, ancient laws keep relative order among greedy trolls, mischievous satyrs, plotting witches, spiteful imps, and jealous fairies. However, when the rules get broken Seth is a bit too curious and reckless for his own good powerful forces of evil are unleashed, and Kendra and her brother face the greatest challenge of their lives. To save their family, Fablehaven, and perhaps even the world, Kendra and Seth must find the courage to do what they fear most.
I freaking love Brandon Mull, he is so creative. Fablehaven is alluring and it always amazes me. Brandon Mull is an amazing author.

Author of the Month
(thank you Goodreads. This is from them, not me. So no plagurism here :) )
Syrie James
Syrie James is the bestselling author of eight critically acclaimed novels, including The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen, The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen, The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte, Nocturne, Dracula My Love, Forbidden, and The Harrison Duet: Songbird and Propositions. Her books have been translated into eighteen foreign languages.Syrie was named after a character in a radio show that her mother listened to as a girl. Today, Syrie is thrilled that her name is pronounced exactly the same as Siri, the iPhone personal assistant--even if they spell the name incorrectly. :)
Syrie has long been a fan of British literature of the 19th century. She also enjoys reading in a variety of other genres, including historical fiction, paranormal fiction, women's fiction, biography, memoir, romance, mystery, and the classics.
Two of Syrie's favorite authors are Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë. Syrie's husband Bill, who has joined her in watching all the film versions of Miss Austen's novels several times over and every film version of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights ever made, has come to share her enthusiasm, if not her obsession. Syrie also enjoys writing about brilliant, sympathetic, charismatic vampires ... and the paranormal. It was a truly wonderful experience to co-author the novel Forbidden with her son Ryan.
Syrie lived in Paris when she was seven years old, and had visited more than two dozen countries by age eight, which instilled in her a lifelong love of traveling. Her other favorite pursuits include movies, theater, great food, playing games with family and friends, Scrabble, photography, sewing, and the out of doors. Syrie designed and maintains her website, syriejames.com, and she welcomes visitor and messages! Like Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë, Syrie is very fond of the countryside, and loves taking long walks.
Syrie lives with her family in Los Angeles, California. She is a member of the WGA, RWA, and a life member of JASNA (the Jane Austen Society of North America). She spent many years as a screenwriter and enjoys writing both novels and screenplays.
Syrie writes practically every weekday from 10 - 6. She says, "Many people can't wait for the weekend to arrive. It's the opposite for me. I truly love my jam-packed weekends, but from the time I turn off the computer on Friday evening to the moment I'm back in my chair on Monday morning, I'm anxious to get back to the characters I left in limbo, who are just waiting for me to continue their story."
And of course, with the Author of the Month comes a book by them. This book is called Forbidden and it was seriously AWESOME! I wanted to stay up all night reading it! Thanks to Mrs. Hall for recommending it to me!
FORBIDDEN: BOOK OF THE MONTH
Alec MacKenzie is searching for someone. Someone who his kind is sent to kill. He didn't ask for this job, he has been trying to live a normal life at a normal highschool. Soon he will find the person he has been sent to kill is someone that he would never want to hurt. This book was awesome. If you like Twilight and forbidden romances, this book is the one for you. Just try it, it is great!
The REAL book summary:
She should not exist.
He should not love her.
Claire Brennan has been attending Emerson Academy for two years now (the longest she and her mom have remained anywhere) and she's desperate to stay put for the rest of high school. So there's no way she's going to tell her mom about the psychic visions she's been having or the creepy warnings that she's in danger.
Alec MacKenzie is fed up with his duties to watch and, when necessary, eliminate the descendants of his angelic forefathers. He chose Emerson as the ideal hiding place where he could be normal for once. He hadn't factored Claire into his plans. . . .
Their love is forbidden, going against everything Alec has been taught to believe. But when the reason behind Claire's unusual powers is revealed and the threat to her life becomes clear, how far will Alec go to protect her?

Divergent by Veronica Roth
I actually couldn't have said a better summary than the bookflap did, so the summary is off of the book flap. If you liked Hunger Games, you will love this book, because it is a new twisted version of that. I know the flap says it has romance, but it is still a great book to read. For guys, I mean.Genre: Dystopian
Watch out for: Says the H word and OMG a few times, brief talk of inappropriate things (just skip over that page, you'll still understand the book if you do)
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen.
But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.Currently Reading: The Time Machine
