The Fault in Our Stars
The top of my to-reads list is Fault in Our Stars. It was voted the best Young Adult book of 2012, and I have not even read it yet. Here is the summary off of our friend Goodreads:
Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.
Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.
Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.
Okay, and so what the heck is the Summer Reading Challenge? It is a challenge in the summer where I make a list of books and read every single one of them. So every day until May 23rd, I will be posting a new Summer Reading List Update along with the regular book reviews and stuff. And then all throughout the summer I will be crossing them off my lists and reviewing them. So if you are one of the few people in this world who actually read my website, you can try this challenge, too. Peace out!

The Princess Bride
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
One of my favorite movies as a kid and even still now is the Princess Bride. I love Fezzik and Inigo, and the story of romance and adventure. It was the first time I ever learned what the word inconceivable meant.
As it turns out, one of the directors of the Princess Bride movie is William Goldman, who wrote this abridged version of one of his favorite books as a kid. A lot of the book is word for word in the script, so if you have seen the movie, it has a lot of the same text.
What is this book about? Adventure. Love. Death. Fighting. Evil. Good. Princesses. Princes. Swords. Pirates. A lot of things. It is basically the story of young Buttercup and Westley, who fall in love. Then, when Westley must go to America for money, his ship is attacked by the dread pirate Roberts and there are no survivors. Prince Humperdinck must have a wife, and he is so captivated by Buttercup's beauty that he commands her to wed him. It is a great story, really, and always keeps you on your toes.
One of my favorite parts in this book was the love confessions of both Buttercup and Westley in the early start of the book.
“I love you,' Buttercup said. 'I know this must come as something of a surprise to you, since all I've ever done is scorn you and degrade you and taunt you, but I have loved you for several hours now, and every second, more. I thought an hour ago that I loved you more than any woman has ever loved a man, but a half hour after that I knew that what I felt before was nothing compared to what I felt then. But ten minutes after that, I understood that my previous love was a puddle compared to the high seas before a storm. Your eyes are like that, did you know? Well they are. How many minutes ago was I? Twenty? Had I brought my feelings up to then? It doesn't matter.' Buttercup still could not look at him. The sun was rising behind her now; she could feel the heat on her back, and it gave her courage. 'I love you so much more now than twenty minutes ago that there cannot be comparison. I love you so much more now then when you opened your hovel door, there cannot be comparison. There is no room in my body for anything but you. My arms love you, my ears adore you, my knees shake with blind affection. My mind begs you to ask it something so it can obey. Do you want me to follow you for the rest of your days? I will do that. Do you want me to crawl? I will crawl. I will be quiet for you or sing for you, or if you are hungry, let me bring you food, or if you have thirst and nothing will quench it but Arabian wine, I will go to Araby, even though it is across the world, and bring a bottle back for your lunch. Anything there is that I can do for you, I will do for you; anything there is that I cannot do, I will learn to do. I know I cannot compete with the Countess in skills or wisdom or appeal, and I saw the way she looked at you. And I saw the way you looked at her. But remember, please, that she is old and has other interests, while I am seventeen and for me there is only you. Dearest Westley--I've never called you that before, have I?--Westley, Westley, Westley, Westley, Westley,--darling Westley, adored Westley, sweet perfect Westley, whisper that I have a chance to win your love.' And with that, she dared the bravest thing she'd ever done; she looked right into his eyes.”
“Do you love me, Westley? Is that it?’
He couldn’t believe it. ‘Do I love you? My God, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches. If your love were—‘
‘I don’t understand the first one yet,’ Buttercup interrupted. She was starting to get very excited now. ‘Let me get this straight. Are you saying my love is the size of a grain of sand and yours is this other thing? Images just confuse me so—is this universal business of yours bigger than my sand? Help me, Westley. I have the feeling we’re on the verge of something just terribly important.’
‘I have stayed these years in my hovel because of you. I have taught myself languages because of you. I have made my body strong because I thought you might be pleased by a strong body. I have lived my life with only the prayer that some sudden dawn you might glance in my direction. I have not known a moment in years when the sight of you did not send my heart careening against my rib cage. I have not known a night when your visage did not accompany me to sleep. There has not been a morning when you did not flutter behind my waking eyelids….Is any of this getting through to you, Buttercup, or do you want me to go on for a while?’
‘Never stop.’
‘There has not been—‘
‘If you’re teasing me, Westley, I’m just going to kill you.’
‘How can you even dream I might be teasing?’
‘Well, you haven’t once said you loved me.’
‘That’s all you need? Easy. I love you. Okay? Want it louder? I love you. Spell it out, should I? I ell-oh-vee-ee why-oh-you. Want it backward? You love I.’
‘You are teasing now; aren’t you?’
‘A little maybe; I’ve been saying it so long to you, you just wouldn’t listen. Every time you said ‘Farm boy do this’ you thought I was answering ‘As you wish’ but that’s only because you were hearing wrong. ‘I love you’ was what it was, but you never heard, and you never heard.”
Or my favorite classic line: “Inconceivable!"
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Or:
“My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!”
And this is why I love Fezzik:
“No more rhymes now I mean it!”
“Anybody want a peanut?”
“AAHH!”
Buttercup to the Prince:
“Westley and I are joined by the bond of love and you cannot track that, not with a thousand bloodhounds, and you cannot break it, not with a thousand swords.”
Anyway, no more spoilers. This book was absolutely amazing as I have already said, and so yes, read it. Ten out of ten.

Starters
Starters by Lisa Price
When Callie realizes that her brother and her best friend are starving and she has no way to get them food, she turns to her last option: Prime Destinations. It is a place where she can "rent" her body out for people to use (using a chip in her brain.) The first two fly by very quickly, but during the third one Callie wakes up. There is a problem with the connection and now the lady who was renting her body gets stuck in her brain.
Callie keeps blacking in and out of her own body, letting the renter take control, and after that, she won't remember anything that has happened. When Callie wakes up one time with a gun pointed at somebody, she realizes that her renter does not have a total life of luxury; she wants to murder someone and frame it on Callie. Can Callie stop her before it is time to get her body back to herself?
Goodreads:
Callie lost her parents when the Spore Wars wiped out everyone between the ages of twenty and sixty. She and her little brother, Tyler, go on the run, living as squatters with their friend Michael and fighting off renegades who would kill them for a cookie. Callie's only hope is Prime Destinations, a disturbing place in Beverly Hills run by a mysterious figure known as the Old Man.
He hires teens to rent their bodies to Enders—seniors who want to be young again. Callie, desperate for the money that will keep her, Tyler, and Michael alive, agrees to be a donor. But the neurochip they place in Callie's head malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, and going out with a senator's grandson. It feels almost like a fairy tale, until Callie discovers that her renter intends to do more than party—and that Prime Destinations' plans are more evil than Callie could ever have imagined. . .
My rating:
This book was a great dystopian, one of my favorites, actually. It could have used more character development on some of the characters, but the plot as well as "Prime Destinations" was well explained. This was one of the books that you have to finish in a day or you could go crazy. There were a lot of big shocks in this book, things you never would have dreamed could happen. The end was a HUGE shocker with a cliffhanger and I hope the second one comes out soon.
Ten out of ten.

The Time Keeper
The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom
This book was about one of the first men on Earth, a man who fell in love with a girl, a man who invented the first measurements of time. He has been condemned to keep track of time in a cave, forever, answering the calls of humans who want more time and less time.
Sarah Lemon is one of those calling for less time. She wants time to become beautiful for a cool new kid who asked her out on a date, She wants more time to spend with him, and more time to be with him, even though he might one day break her heart one day. However, she is constantly begging for less time so her date will approach faster, and even less time for her life.
Victor Delamore is one of those people who needs more time. He is a rich man with all the luxuries of life. When he finds out he is dying of cancer, he prays for more time. This situation might humble him, and open his heart to his wife Gracie, who he has closed off for so long.
Father Time must help both of them in order to escape his sentence that he has had for so long, and maybe come home to the girl he has always loved.A bit from Goodreads:
In this fable, the first man on earth to count the hours becomes Father Time. The inventor of the world's first clock is punished for trying to measure God's greatest gift. He is banished to a cave for centuries and forced to listen to the voices of all who come after him seeking more days, more years. Eventually, with his soul nearly broken, Father Time is granted his freedom, along with a magical hourglass and a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two earthly people the true meaning of time.
He returns to our world--now dominated by the hour-counting he so innocently began--and commences a journey with two unlikely partners: one a teenage girl who is about to give up on life, the other a wealthy old businessman who wants to live forever. To save himself, he must save them both. And stop the world to do so.
This book was given to me by my uncle for Christmas, and it was a really good present! I liked the idea in general, but some of it was confusing and could have used more character development. There are some really sad parts in this book, and overall it was about a seven out of ten. It tells the story of love and heartbreak, greed and humbling, and shows us how two individuals can act when they have very little time left. This is a timeless, amazing book. Seven out of ten.

Not for America Singer, a commoner. She is a Five in love with a Six named Aspen. America is shocked when she sends in the papers and is selected to go.
Who will America’s heart belong to? The man of her dreams, and the one she will always love, or the Prince, who can give her an unimaginable future?
This book was AMAZING! I would give it a ten out of ten rating. Read it if you liked Starters or Delirium.
Shatter Me
Shatter Me
I have not touched another human being in 264 days.
Monster. Freak. Evil. Juliette has always been called this, for her entire life. And for a good reason. Her very touch is very lethal and deadly. No one has touched her for years, and the one time someone did, they died. No one has ever bothered to love Juliette, or even talk to her. She has been imprisoned for three years, ever since the Accident. The only food she gets is some chemical slime dumped through her door each evening. She hasn’t spoken a word in 246 days. Until now.
A boy named Adam moves into her cell, and she begins to become more human like again. Then, she fnds out that the Reestablishment wants her. As a weapon. As a killing device. Little do they know, there is more heart in her than any monster like them.
A bit from Goodreads:
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
My rating:
This book was AMAZING. I say that about every book, don’t I? Well I mean it a lot about this one. An impossible romance, a heartbreaking situation for a goodhearted but deadly girl, and a suspenseful page turner, Shatter Me deserves about 4,000 million stars. I mean it. Put this on the TOP of your to-read list.

Scarlet
Scarlet is the long awaited sequel to “Cinder” and is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. It rotates between three characters, the gorgeous Prince Kai, our brave Cinder, and finally, an alluring, beautiful, and daring girl named Scarlet. These three characters create an intense, page turning tale.
Prince Kai is caught in the biggest dilemma of possibly his life. Cinder has escaped, and now the girl he once loved is a wanted criminal. The Lunar Queen is angry with Cinder’s escape and ready for war with Earth.

A visit from her father, who ran away years ago, and is now crazy, confirms her fears. Scarlet soon finds herself having to rely on a mysterious and handsome street fighter named Wolf. Did I like Scarlet better than Cinder? Heck yes! Scarlet was much more intense and page turning. I was disappointed that we did not hear more from Cinder, but I immediately fell in love with Scarlet and WOLF! Wolf is such a better character than Prince Kai, at least, I thought so. This book was romantically and mysteriously amazing, and since I love fairytale retellings, this book was great for me. I honestly thought that Cinder’s story in this book was incredibly boring and if it didn’t explain some things, I would’ve skipped it every time to get to Scarlet’s story. She was such a better character than Cinder in this book. It was a disappointment because I was so excited to continue Cinder’s story when I picked up this book, but I felt like it was just a page filler. I am so excited for Cress, because it is the story of Rapunzel (or so rumor has it) and you should know I am obsessed with Tangled and that stuff. Excited for Cress, love Scarlet, and Cinder in Scarlet was a big disappointment. I hope she and Kai get a very romantic reunion in Cress. J
LOL SO FUNNY!!!! I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!

March 6th 2013 Daily Update
BIGGEST NEWS EVER!!!
Sometimes I have special bits of news other than book releases. Well, this is not a book release news. I have told you before that Divergent is being made into a movie and will be released in 2014. Well, Delirium fans, get a load of this, Delirium will NOT be made into a movie, instead it is turning into a TV series!!!
Fox bought the rights and has already casted the roles:
Gregg Sulkin cast as Jullian
Jeanine Mason as Hana
and finally, Lena. I think this actress is perfect for her. They are still trying to decide who should be cast as Alex. You probably know her from Nancy Drew and other famous roles, EMMA ROBERTS!!!!
To add to this news, I have decided in order to keep you updated on the Delirium TV show, I need a page for it. So, I have now published the in-progress Monthly Updates, Newz, Series, New Media, and other pages. Have fun!!!!

March Monthly Update
Can you believe it is time for another update? Wow. As always, we have an author and book of the month. And our author and book of the month honor has to go to the great Brandon Mull, in honor of the third book in the Beyonders series coming out this month.Book of the Month: Fablehaven
(information from our favorite website, www.goodreads.com )For centuries mystical creatures of all description were gathered into a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite.
Kendra and her brother, Seth, have no idea that their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven. Inside the gated woods, ancient laws keep relative order among greedy trolls, mischievous satyrs, plotting witches, spiteful imps, and jealous fairies. However, when the rules get broken Seth is a bit too curious and reckless for his own good powerful forces of evil are unleashed, and Kendra and her brother face the greatest challenge of their lives. To save their family, Fablehaven, and perhaps even the world, Kendra and Seth must find the courage to do what they fear most.
I freaking love Brandon Mull, he is so creative. Fablehaven is alluring and it always amazes me. Brandon Mull is an amazing author.

Author of the Month
(thank you Goodreads. This is from them, not me. So no plagurism here :) )
Syrie James
Syrie James is the bestselling author of eight critically acclaimed novels, including The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen, The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen, The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Bronte, Nocturne, Dracula My Love, Forbidden, and The Harrison Duet: Songbird and Propositions. Her books have been translated into eighteen foreign languages.Syrie was named after a character in a radio show that her mother listened to as a girl. Today, Syrie is thrilled that her name is pronounced exactly the same as Siri, the iPhone personal assistant--even if they spell the name incorrectly. :)
Syrie has long been a fan of British literature of the 19th century. She also enjoys reading in a variety of other genres, including historical fiction, paranormal fiction, women's fiction, biography, memoir, romance, mystery, and the classics.
Two of Syrie's favorite authors are Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë. Syrie's husband Bill, who has joined her in watching all the film versions of Miss Austen's novels several times over and every film version of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights ever made, has come to share her enthusiasm, if not her obsession. Syrie also enjoys writing about brilliant, sympathetic, charismatic vampires ... and the paranormal. It was a truly wonderful experience to co-author the novel Forbidden with her son Ryan.
Syrie lived in Paris when she was seven years old, and had visited more than two dozen countries by age eight, which instilled in her a lifelong love of traveling. Her other favorite pursuits include movies, theater, great food, playing games with family and friends, Scrabble, photography, sewing, and the out of doors. Syrie designed and maintains her website, syriejames.com, and she welcomes visitor and messages! Like Jane Austen and Charlotte Brontë, Syrie is very fond of the countryside, and loves taking long walks.
Syrie lives with her family in Los Angeles, California. She is a member of the WGA, RWA, and a life member of JASNA (the Jane Austen Society of North America). She spent many years as a screenwriter and enjoys writing both novels and screenplays.
Syrie writes practically every weekday from 10 - 6. She says, "Many people can't wait for the weekend to arrive. It's the opposite for me. I truly love my jam-packed weekends, but from the time I turn off the computer on Friday evening to the moment I'm back in my chair on Monday morning, I'm anxious to get back to the characters I left in limbo, who are just waiting for me to continue their story."
And of course, with the Author of the Month comes a book by them. This book is called Forbidden and it was seriously AWESOME! I wanted to stay up all night reading it! Thanks to Mrs. Hall for recommending it to me!
FORBIDDEN: BOOK OF THE MONTH
Alec MacKenzie is searching for someone. Someone who his kind is sent to kill. He didn't ask for this job, he has been trying to live a normal life at a normal highschool. Soon he will find the person he has been sent to kill is someone that he would never want to hurt. This book was awesome. If you like Twilight and forbidden romances, this book is the one for you. Just try it, it is great!
The REAL book summary:
She should not exist.
He should not love her.
Claire Brennan has been attending Emerson Academy for two years now (the longest she and her mom have remained anywhere) and she's desperate to stay put for the rest of high school. So there's no way she's going to tell her mom about the psychic visions she's been having or the creepy warnings that she's in danger.
Alec MacKenzie is fed up with his duties to watch and, when necessary, eliminate the descendants of his angelic forefathers. He chose Emerson as the ideal hiding place where he could be normal for once. He hadn't factored Claire into his plans. . . .
Their love is forbidden, going against everything Alec has been taught to believe. But when the reason behind Claire's unusual powers is revealed and the threat to her life becomes clear, how far will Alec go to protect her?

Divergent by Veronica Roth
I actually couldn't have said a better summary than the bookflap did, so the summary is off of the book flap. If you liked Hunger Games, you will love this book, because it is a new twisted version of that. I know the flap says it has romance, but it is still a great book to read. For guys, I mean.Genre: Dystopian
Watch out for: Says the H word and OMG a few times, brief talk of inappropriate things (just skip over that page, you'll still understand the book if you do)
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen.
But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.Currently Reading: The Time Machine
