New Way of Writing Reviews.... Yay or Nay?

So, here is the deal... I am having a huge problem with the whole writing reviews thing. I have always tried to make my reviews long and interesting, but the problem is they are TOO long. I never have time to finish one, and it is driving me crazy. So, I have proposed a new idea.

Instead of all that other stuff I used to include, now I am just going to write a 2-4 paragraph review with a quotes and a picture of the cover.

I need a cute font that says "My Thoughts". If you can make one or you can find someone else to make one, email your submission to enchantedbyabook@outlook.com. Thanks!!!

I'm Back!

Guess who is back? Did you guys miss me? Big news- I am writing a book! Lots of people have told me I am a great writer and should get something published- but I am not great at persistence and finishing things.

Good news, though! I have decided to go through with it and write a short novel. I've done some deep digging and realized that even though I love sci-fi, I don't want to write it. I love being inspiring. I love inspiring people to do amazing things. So, I am writing a cute little story from the view of a ten year old girl.

So far I have written the first two chapters, so I think it is going well :) My goal is to finish the book by August, near the start of next school year. I don't know if the book is going to be published- not sure if it is going to be that good yet. If it is, maybe in a few years you guys will hear an update from me that it is getting published.

That is a lot of buts and a lot of maybes. However, as much as I tell people to go after their dreams, I figured I might as well follow my own advice. So, if you have a passion for writing, do it! I recently went to a panel for writers at ComiCon, and the author said: "Write what you want to write, not what the public wants you to write. When you are done, if the public doesn't want your type of book and you can't get it published, put it in a drawer and pull it out later in a few years and try again. Whatever you do, don't give up."

These are wise words, my friends. So this is me, following my passion. Doing what I've always wanted to do, being who I want to be.

And if, someday, all my dreams come true, and I become a writer, I will definitely give you all an autographed copy of my novel.

You guys are amazing. Seriously. Thank you so much!

Catch A Falling Star

18527496Book Title: Catch A Falling Star
Author: Kim Culbertson
Number of Pages:  304
Rating: 3 stars
Genres: Romance, Young Adult Fiction, Hollywood, Self-Discovery
Books like it: This Is What Happy Looks Like

My favorite quote: “Here's the thing you need to know. Here's a hint from Grown-Up World. There's no right way. Not really. Just perspective. We choose whether we succeed or fail. We do. It's all our own spin on it. We create our own definition of success or failure. You can't hold yourself up to other people's versions of things. Not society's idea of things and not other people's. Your own.”

Brief Synopsis from Goodreads:

Nothing ever happens in Little, CA. Which is just the way Carter Moon likes it. But when Hollywood arrives to film a movie starring former child star turned PR mess Adam Jakes, everything changes. Carter's town becomes a giant glittery set and, much to her annoyance, everyone is starry-eyed for Adam. Carter seems to be the only girl not falling all over herself to get a glimpse of him. Which apparently makes her perfect for the secret offer of a lifetime: playing the role of Adam's girlfriend while he's in town, to improve his public image, in exchange for a hefty paycheck. Her family really needs the money and so Carters agrees. But it turns out Adam isn't at all who she thought he was. As they grow closer, their relationship walks a blurry line between what's real and what's fake, and Carter must open her eyes to the scariest of unexplored worlds - her future. Can Carter figure out what she wants out of life AND get the guy? Or are there no Hollywood endings in real life?

My Summary:

Sarah’s made up blog post for stargazing:

Stars are amazing things. Because a light from a star could take millions of years to reach our eye, half the stars we see in the sky tonight may not even exist anymore. They could have blown up or collapsed and become black holes, and we would never know.

Even though those stars are long gone, they are still affecting us. We can still look at them in the sky and admire them. In our own world, we have stars like this. Take Thomas Edison for example. His legacy has been left behind, as well as all of his inventions that still help us in the world today. Any author, inventor, musician, or actor who has passed their legacy on today is like those stars in the sky.

Leave your mark. Do something amazing. You never know how long people may be looking at your star.

See you tonight, under the sky.

I would like to thank the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for review via Netgalley. Thank you!!!
This book was cute. I admit.
It had me awing and drooling and acting like a complete blubbering idiot.
It had was one of those stories that is great if you want to take a breather for a minute and just relax. When you read all those fast paced thrillers and sci-fi, sometimes it’s nice to take a break and read a cute story.

I’m one of those girls who doesn’t like to be a real romantic/ giggly girl and all that stuff. Most of the boys I am in love with are in fact, fictional.  So, I’m not too into those cute “movie type” of romances- but this one was different.
Most of this book is a “movie-perfect” love story, in fact, the Prince Charming is a gorgeous movie star.

Carter Moon lives in a small town in Little, California.  Then, almost like it happened out of a fairytale, Little, California is thrust into the world of film when their town is picked as the set for A Christmas Cheryl, a modern retelling of A Christmas Carol. The main role is played by incredibly famous, absolutely gorgeous, Adam Jakes.

Carter has always loved the peace and familiarity of her small town, so when it is thrust into the world of cameras and superstars, it leaves her a little dazed. Although her best friend Chloe is in love with Adam Jakes, Carter tries not to pay too much attention to the change.
That is, until one day, she gets a knock on her door that changes her life. She is offered a job to become Adam Jakes fake girlfriend. It pays very generously, and, because her family needs the money, she reluctantly accepts.
Thrown into the world of paparazzi, glamour, and publicity, Carter finds a camera in her face every second she turns around. Although she knows her relationship with Adam is temporary and fake, she can’t help but find herself falling hard for him.
She finds herself confused by Adam. One second, he is an extremely sweet guy stealing her heart, and the next, he is flashing a dazzling smile and flirting with another girl. Is she seeing a glimpse at the real Adam Jakes or is it all a part of the act?

So, about this book. You get the basics, small town girl falls in love with big movie star. We’ve heard it all before. The thing is, this book has more depth than the same basic love story. Long ago, Carter used to be a dancer. An extremely talented dancer. But, something happens that makes her passion fall flat. She packs up her dancing shoes and sets them in a dusty corner, resolving never to pick them up again.
We find out her reasons, of course. Will Carter break the ties between her and her small town to go find herself?

You will have to read the book to find out.

This book was an adorable book about falling in love, looking to the stars, and self-discovery. If you like fast reads and romance novels, definitely pick this up.

The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith
17735600Release Date: April 15

Lucy and Owen meet somewhere between the tenth and eleventh floors of a New York City apartment building, on an elevator rendered useless by a citywide blackout. After they're rescued, they spend a single night together, wandering the darkened streets and marveling at the rare appearance of stars above Manhattan. But once the power is restored, so is reality. Lucy soon moves to Edinburgh with her parents, while Owen heads out west with his father.

Lucy and Owen's relationship plays out across the globe as they stay in touch through postcards, occasional e-mails, and -- finally -- a reunion in the city where they first met.

A carefully charted map of a long-distance relationship, Jennifer E. Smith's new novel shows that the center of the world isn't necessarily a place. It can be a person, too.
